| Description | Drivers Direct Recruitment are looking to recruit experienced HGV 1 DRIVERS for a variety of shifts either ongoing or ad-hoc for various clients across Merseyside and Cheshire areas. Hours of work: Days / Nights Mainly weekdays, occasional weekend shifts Varying start times depending on client needs Salary: £14.27 p/h - £21.12 p/h depending on client and shift PLUS holiday pay taking this up to between £16.00 p/h and £23.67 p/h depending on client and shift Minimum pay 8 hours per shift The Role: Mainly trunking Some shifts may involve a number of drops Curtainsiders, containers or flatbed shifts Some roles may involve working with a driver's mate Duties/Responsibilities: Carrying out relevant daily vehicle safety checks and reporting as per Operational Procedures. Ensure all delivery and collections are carried out in accordance with company procedures. To deliver & collect to customers in a safe and professional manner. To complete all work related paperwork in full and hand in at the end of the shift. Essential Skills: Be able to work on own initiative. Must have held a valid HGV1 / Cat CE licence for 2 years minimum, with at least 60 days driving experience in the last 6 months. Must hold a valid driver qualification (CPC) card. Must hold a valid Digital tacho card. Good communication skills. Good customer relations. Have a safe driving record. No more than 6 minor penalty points due to insurance stipulations.
